I bought 2 pairs for my boyfriend for christmas. The art of our pups is great! You can definitely tell they're our dogs!! The material the art is printed on (top ankle/shin part of the sock) stretches if you have big calves or the size is too small, and when it stretches the image of the dogs gets a little weird looking; it doesn't stretch the image much, it just turns kinda white I guess because of the threads woven under the black top threads are white. So if my boyfriend stretches the socks all the way up his calf, they don't look AS great, but if he wears them normally (just ankle and lower shin) they look great. That brings me to the size because I ordered an extra large because it seemed like a lot of reviews said they ran small, but they were huge!! I'm not sure if I had ordered just a large, if that would've changed how the top part fit considering what I mentioned earlier about the dogs' image getting stretched and distorted. Fortunately the XL is fine, just slightly big in the foot (toe to heel) section. I do have to say about the art though, that it looks like 2 different artists designed the 2 pairs of socks I ordered. I kind of would've liked if the styles were a little more alike. My Belgian Mal's image is a lot more airbrushy than our other dog's image; the red black mouth cur's image is a lot more "color by numbers" - looking which I love. Just my preference, but who knows maybe one artist did both and found my Mal's fur to look better with an airbrushy texture, rather than a blocked off style for the shorter haired dog. Either way I love how these turned out regardless!!! My boyfriend wears one of each so he can bring our dogs to work and show offhow handsome they are! I received a PetCanva blanket of my dog that passed away as a gift, and it looks exactly like him and it made me cry when I opened it. The blanket is SUPER soft btw (the socks feel good too! Thick material); the image of his face was PERFECT, my only qualm is that it appeared as though the artist didn't know if they should include the sweater my dog was wearing in the photo or not. So they went with a curious artistic choice and somehow made his sweater around his neck look like a swirly scarf? Very weird but I still love the blanket. Overall a great quality gift and product.
